A home to extended reality artists

Artistic duo “Slow immediate” make people stop to embrace a tree and hear the voices inside it.

They design sci-fi looking masks that manipulate the user’s perception of their own respiration. The extend the acclaimed production “Sleep No More” to a wider remote audience. That’s just part of the projects that Tsinghua University graduate, artist and engineer Xin Liu and artist, electrical engineer Gershon Dublon create together. This year, they are among two dozens of artists and producers at ONX Studio, the recently announced project of Onassis USA and the New Museum’s NEW INC. The 3,000 square feet space provides a hybrid studio-lab for a growing community of extended reality artists, where they will be able to develop, beta test, and demo their works for curators, producers, collectors, and agencies.

Each year the studio space will transform into an extended reality gallery for a month-long showcase featuring ONX artists. The first showcase is planned for later in 2021.
