A new exhibition of LA-based artist Henry Taylor goes ok view at Haydee & Wirth Southampton.

For a month starting July 1st, the audience can see a selection of recent paintings and sculptures by the artist, centered around the history of Black jockeys, caddies, and professional golfers, who navigated these predominantly white and racially exclusionary games. In words of a renowned author Zadie Smith: “Taylor depicts Black history the way many Black people actually experience it: as simultaneous change and stasis, revolution and stagnation, one step forward, two steps back”.
