Hauser & Wirth Engaging the Art Community in Spain

One of the world’s top galleries is released the news of expanding beyong its nine locations around the world, with opening of a new 1,500 square meter space in Spain.

Hauser & Wirth Menorca will encompass an exhibition space, where the annual series of changing exhibitions will be presented from April to October, a rich education programme, a gallery shop, and ‘cantina’ restaurant. The new project places special emphasis to the education programme, which is said to “offer bespoke and varied education initiatives aimed at engaging the community and international visitors with contemporary art”. In addition to art-focused initiatives, the new space also plays the conservation role, taking up sensitive restoration works in the former hospital dating back to the 18th century, a landmark architecture of the island.
