A:What kind of lifestyle defines better JR ?

A:How does your lifestyle contribute to your work?
Q:I surround myself with friends and artists and it has an incredible impact on my work as I always love implicating people into my process and doing collaboration!
A:What are your long-term ambitions (life and work)?
Q:I love not knowing what tomorrow will be made of. Not knowing what’s next is my favorite sport…
A:Which places where you travel to work are the most impressive ones, and why?
Q:I always travel according to my resources and I am glad I was born this century where you can travel in low cost company if you need to. I always see the city I go as a playground starting from my own town…Paris!
A:Can you talk about the work that you are involved in now?
Q:I am working on the subject of immigration and just finished a big installation in the abandoned Hospital of Ellis Island in New York… Working on the movement of population of 100 years ago made me want to see the ones of today. I just came back from Sicily and witnessed the arrival of boats with hundreds of immigrants coming from Africa. I am in the middle of it right now… and I can’t wait to discover where this will lead me.
About China:
A:What is your view about China? Do you see a new culture rising regarding art? Also, what do you think about the Chinese young artists that are coming up?
Q:I had amazing experience in China through the different projects and shows I did there in the past few years..the latest project Inside Out was a great way for me to really involve the population… I was really surprise how many people did participate and how many streets got covered!
A:Which Asian artist do you admire?
Q:I collaborated with the Artist Liu Bolin and we want to continue our collaboration even further.
A:What do you think of the contribution of China to the art industry? How about the future?
Q:It’s pretty massive… but I am not an expert of the art industry.

A:您的生活方式是怎么影响你的工作的?
Q:我身边有很多艺术家朋友,他们给我的工作带来了很大影响,我也一直热衷于让人们加入我,与我合作。
A:您有什么长远的计划吗(生活上、工作上)?
Q:我很少去想明天会发生什么。不知道接下来会发生什么,是我最喜欢的游戏。
A:您旅行工作过的地方,哪些给您留下印象最深?为什么?
Q:我一直根据我的资金情况去旅行,我很开心能出生在这个年代,如果你需要,你可以低成本的旅行,我总是把我去的城市当做一个游乐场,从我的家乡开始——巴黎!
A:能不能聊聊您现在的工作?
Q:我在做关于移民的项目,刚刚在纽约埃利斯岛一家废弃医院完成了一件大装置。做100年前的人口流动的工作让我想看看今天的。我刚从西西里回来,目睹了成百的坐船来的非洲移民。现在我也是他们的一员了,迫不及待的想知道会带我去到哪里。
关于中国:
A:您对中国的看法是什么?有没有看到一种关于艺术的新文化在兴起?还有,你是怎么看待中国的新兴年轻艺术家的?
Q:过去的几年里,我在中国做的不同的项目和展览都是很棒的在那的经历。最新的展览Inside Out对我来说是让我真正让“人口”参与进来的好方法。我真的很惊讶,会有那么多的人参与进来,街上站满了人。
A:您比较欣赏哪个亚洲艺术家?
Q:我跟艺术家刘勃麟合作过,我们打算继续更长期的合作。
A:您认为中国对艺术产业做了什么贡献?前景如何?
Q:相当大的贡献……但是我也不是艺术产业的专家,哈哈。
