Research assistant for Latin American Art, Bryan Barcena was appointed MOCA’s new assistant curator and manager of publications.

Bryan Barcena’s knowledge of post-World War II Latin American art is a huge resource for MOCA, according to chief curator Helen Molesworth. The Los-Angeles museum of contemporary art made the art dialogue between Los Angeles and Latin American artists one of its prominent focus. Recently, MOCA contributed to the Getty Foundation’s Initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA with exhibition Anna Maria Maiolino. Recent work of newly appointed assistant curator on this and Adrian Villar Rojas exhibitions was essential to their success. Can’t wait to see how Barcena, who worked on exhibitions with artists including like Liz Deschenes, Adriana Varejão, Jim Hodges, Matthew Ritchie, Erin Shirreff, will shine in the new role.
