Provocative Art : Banksy’s Message About Migration

Anonymous artist uses his work to comment on migration and borders again, with seven new murals have been discovered over the past week. 

With the first work discovered in northern Paris on World Refugee Day, later at least seven new murals have been found over the past week. The first work depicting a girl spray-painting wallpaper over a swastika, appeared near a former center for immigrants.

Not all the works directly reference migration. One is a reference to the 1801 painting of Napoleon crossing the Alps, several other works depict rats. 

Banksy’s new works land at a key political moment, and the artist continues to find ways of staying relevant.
