LACMA aims to enrich diversity of the museum field with its Emerging Art Professionals Program (LEAP) for recent college graduates with baccalaureate degrees from historically underrepresented groups.

Archivist, educator, and scholar Adrienne Adams and artist, writer, scholar Danielle Galván Gomez were selected as the inaugural LEAP fellows. The fellowship offers opportunities to assist on executive-level activities related to the running of the museum, as well as getting exposure to curatorial practice in contemporary art, planning, design, and implementation of exhibition programs among other activities. LACMA CEO Michael Govan highlighted that “through the LEAP fellowship, LACMA hopes to bring in the next generation of museum leaders that include voices and opinions of those from a variety of backgrounds”.
