22 indie documentary projects to look forward to
Sundance Institute announced latest Documentary Fund grantees, with support extended to projects in all stages of development, production, post-production and audience management.
Independent stories from nonfiction filmmakers spanning 19 countries were selected. Among the projects are a film about a Russian transgender ornithologist escaping to the world of fantasy; a visual story on issues that the country of Brazil still insists on forgetting; a story of Puerto Rican cosplayer embarking on a quest to heal the loss of his father; a heart-connected portrait of Sierra Leone during the Ebola outbreak and other timely nonfiction narratives.
