As the 19th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) draws its curtains today, it concludes with a resounding success, setting premiere records and showcasing the allure of cinema despite the enticing weather. The festival, which garnered the attendance of 130,000 film enthusiasts, featured a remarkable lineup of 150 films, including 52 world or European premieres, marking a historic milestone for the event. A constellation of stars, including Jessica Chastain, Ethan Hawke, Mads Mikkelsen, and Diane Kruger, added to the festival's allure, captivating audiences with their presence.

Christian Jungen, the Artistic Director of ZFF, expressed delight at the success of this edition. "It was a wonderful edition with star guests like Jessica Chastain, Ethan Hawke, Diane Kruger, and Mads Mikkelsen expressing their enthusiasm for Zurich on their socials," he shared. Despite the tempting weather, the festival attracted 130,000 visitors, underscoring the enduring passion for cinema.

A significant highlight of the 19th ZFF was the inauguration of the Frame cinema complex on Europa-Allee. Featuring six theaters with a total capacity of 800 seats, Frame debuted as a major crowd magnet. Jennifer Somm, Managing Director of Spoundation Motion Picture AG, noted, "The Frame theatres delight audiences with their state-of-the-art technology, huge screens, and comfortable seats." The complex made an immediate impact, hosting events such as Michael Steiner's thrilling Langstrasse movie, "EARLY BIRDS," a concert by Peter Doherty, and the ZFF Masters session featuring Margarethe von Trotta.

Frame, transitioning into full cinema operations, will continue to mirror the ZFF's profile, emphasizing introductions by its programmers as a distinctive feature. The success of this year's festival and the promising launch of Frame set an optimistic tone as the ZFF looks ahead to its 20th-anniversary celebration next year.
