The San-Ti may not be arriving on Earth for another 400 years, but thankfully, you don’t have to wait that long for more 3 Body Problem. On Friday, May 31, during the official Television Academy 3 Body Problem panel at the Netflix FYSEE space at Sunset Las Palmas in Los Angeles, executive producers, showrunners, and writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (The Terror, True Blood) confirmed that the mind-bending sci-fi drama will return for Seasons 2 and 3.

Benioff, Weiss, and Woo expressed their excitement about continuing the story they set out to tell. “We included a lot of what we loved from the [novels by Cixin Liu] in Season 1, but the vast majority of reasons we wanted to make this show are in Season 2,” said Weiss. “We always wanted to get to the final page of the third book, and it’s really, really thrilling to us that we will get to do just that.”

Moderated by Vanity Fair senior Hollywood correspondent Anthony Breznican, the panel also featured Benedict Wong who plays Da Shi, Jess Hong who stars as Jin Cheng, Zine Tseng who plays Young Ye Wenjie, Liam Cunningham who plays Thomas Wade, John Bradley who plays Jack Rooney, and Alex Sharp who plays Will Downing. Additionally, director Derek Tsang, production designer Deborah Riley, casting director Nina Gold, VFX producer Steve Kullback, and composer Ramin Djawadi were present.

Fans can look forward to delving deeper into the expansive universe of 3 Body Problem as the series continues to unfold its epic narrative over the upcoming seasons.
