Disney+ is set to release "Young Woman and the Sea," the extraordinary true story of Trudy Ederle, on July 19. This inspirational drama, which premiered in theaters on May 31, 2024, has been warmly received by critics and audiences alike.

The film stars Daisy Ridley as Trudy Ederle, the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel. Born to immigrant parents in New York City in 1905, Ederle overcame numerous obstacles, including societal prejudice and personal challenges, to achieve this remarkable feat. With the unwavering support of her older sister and dedicated trainers, she rose through the ranks of the Olympic swimming team to complete the grueling 21-mile swim from France to England.
