Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 25th, when the series will debut on HBO Latino in the U.S. and be available for global streaming on Max. Produced by O2 Filmes, the series has just unveiled its official teaser art.

Set two decades after the events of the original film, CITY OF GOD: THE FIGHT RAGES ON promises to deliver gripping storytelling over six episodes, released weekly every Sunday until September 29th. This continuation of Paulo Lins' literary work takes us back to the turbulent early 2000s. The plot kicks off with the release of a young drug dealer from prison, reigniting conflicts in Cidade de Deus. The residents find themselves caught in a vicious cycle of violence, trapped between drug traffickers, militias, and public authorities. However, the community’s resilience shines through as they band together to face their oppressors.
