Andy Warhol’s Media Legacy Revived Already
Earlier last month closure of the Interview magazine hit the news. But seems like the public and celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Andy Cohen, Naomi Campbell among others were too quick to mourn the death of an iconic publication.
The magazine, founded by Andy Warhol, existed for more than 50 years, and it might be coming back from the dead. The magazine, which made its name as a pioneer of celebrity Q&A, has been surveying art, fashion, entertainment and pop culture of downtown New York. The main distinguisher was that interviews ran in their raw form, never polished for clarity or brevity, so the questions to cult-favorite celebrities read like conversations.
The Interview publisher Jason Nikic revealed in a memo that Interview will return with a September issue not without some team changes: Rihanna’s stylist Mel Ottenberg will join the staff as creative director, replacing Karl Templer.
