The Year of France in Korea

or the occasion of the opening of the France-Korea year 2015-2016 and to celebrate 130 years of friendship between the two countries, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has imagined a sculpture surrounding the statue of King Sejong, located on Sejongno, Jongno-gu, Seoul-si.

After the launch of the year of France in China with an event at the Grand Palais in Paris, happened in the collaboration of several organizations, including YiZhouStudio, it's time for Korea now.

The celebration of the 130-year friendship commenced with the «Year of France in Korea», launched on March 23 in Seoul. A wide set of events demonstrating innovation and creativity from both cultures awaits Seoul. With the spectacular performance called ‘The Age of Time’ staged to mark the opening of the festival. food tastings at Gwanghwamun Square, showcasing the variety of French cuisine, post-modernity exhibition spotlighting the art captured by French photographer Francoise Huguier and 350 more events on the way, it sure will be quite a year.
