The Museum of Modern Art’s Black Arts Council is set to host its annual benefit on April 3, 2025, celebrating the remarkable contributions of artist Simone Leigh, MoMA trustee Pamela J. Joyner, and philanthropist Alfred J. Giuffrida. This prestigious event will bring together art enthusiasts, collectors, and patrons in support of the visibility and appreciation of Black artists at MoMA.

Attendees will be treated to a special musical performance by the genre-blending band Phony Ppl, along with DJ sets by Aku & Niks and Gale Scott. The evening will be capped off with an exquisite dessert experience curated by Camari Mick, the executive pastry chef at the Michelin-starred Musket Room.

Since its founding in 1993 as the Friends of Education by Dr. Akosua Barthwell Evans, Agnes Gund, and David Rockefeller Jr., the Black Arts Council has played a vital role in advocating for the representation of African diaspora artists. Proceeds from the benefit will continue to support acquisitions, exhibitions, and educational programming, ensuring lasting impact and influence.

This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Black art, culture, and community, reaffirming MoMA’s commitment to artistic excellence and inclusion.
