Adrian Piper Retrospective at MoMA

The artist’s  first American museum exhibition in over ten years will make a precedent in MoMA.

Adrian Piper, a pioneering conceptualist and performance artist, has been challenging assumptions about race, class, and gender for fifty years. She was awarded as the Best Artist at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015 and will be having the first major retrospective in years at MoMA. For the first time, the museum will devote an entire floor to the work of a living artist. On view from March 31st through July 22nd, A Synthesis of Intuitions, 1965-2016 will feature over 280 works in different mediums ranging from works on paper, video, multimedia installation to performance, painting, sound and many more.
