MoCA lines up three exhibitions as part of Pacific Standard Time:LA/LA, an ambitious exploration of Latin American and Latino art in connection with Los Angeles.

Supported by grants from the Getty Foundation, the project takes place from September 2017 through January 2018 at more than 70 cultural institutions across Southern California. At MoCA spaces, three exhibitions will be on the view. The first comprehensive U.S. museum survey five decades of works by artist Anna Maria Maiolino. The exhibition of Italian-heritage artist will be on the view from  August 4–December 31 at MOCA Grand Avenue.

MOCA Pacific Design Center and the ONE Gallery will host an exhibition of Axis Mundo from September 9th until December 31st. Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A, organized in cooperation with  Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries, will feature more than 50 LGBTQ and Chicano artists from 1960s and early 1990s.

And finally, an installation of Adrian Villar Rojas will be on the view at The Geffen Contemporary at MoCA from October 22nd until February 26. Titled ‘The Theater of Disappearance’, the work by Villar Rojas will radically transform the gallery space, employing dramatic architectural and aesthetic shifts.
