Senior & Shopmaker presents an exhibition of two of the most innovative printmakers of the twentieth century.

On view from April 11th through May 24th, Josef Albers and Robert Mangold: The Essence of Form brings printmaking closer to the audience through works of two renowned artists.Though Robert Mangold never learnt directly from Josef Albers, Albers’ theories had a lasting impact on the younger artist’s work. You can trace the signs that link the printed work of the two artists in their selective use of surface texture, geometric forms governed by an architectural logic of construction as much as by abstract formal principle, as well as ineffable color combinations.

Minimalistic and colorful, the works on view showcase the two artists’ explorations on the form of serial and related images, as well as the relationship of constructed geometric form.

Senior&Shopmaker

从4月11号到五月24号,The Essence of Form 展通过Josef Albers和Robert Mangold的作品使其更接近观众。
