Ellen Gallagher’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles. 

Accidental Records, Ellen Gallagher first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, will be on the view at Hauser & Wirth from November 4th, through January 28th, 2018. The artist, widely acclaimed for her own genre of history painting, returns to the themes and motifs at the center of her practice. 

Gallagher questions accepted geographies and explores the complex histories of the Black Atlantic and the afterlives of the Middle Passage. The exhibition will include new paintings, drawings, and film installations.
