Five Days of Art Extravaganza

With more than 80,000 visitors, Art Basel Hong Kong wrapped up its sixth edition. Here’s what you’ve missed

One of the world’s most prestigious art fairs, this year Art Basel Hong Kong showcased work from more emerging international artists than ever, in addition to established names from Jeff Koons to Tracey Emin. Attendees enjoyed, wondered about, confused and a whole spectrum of other emotions, that contemporary art can make you feel across 6 section— Galleries, Insights, Discoveries, Kabinett, Encounters, and Film. The fair wrapped up with a 35$ million Willem de Kooning sold to Levy Gorvy. Virgil Abloh the new Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director does not come off the headlines recently, and apparently, art is also one of his many fortes—his piece was sold at Gagosian. Art Basel definitely set the spring tone for art lovers, and there are more events coming to spur the city’s art life. Stay tuned.
