LACOMBE | INSIDE CINEMA

There’s a countless number of photographs taken around the world every second. Millions of camera shutters click in hands of amateurs and professionals in an attempt to capture the moment or let people open up their trues senses. But there’s only a limited amount of pictures, which are able to tell the story and reveal the photographer’s personality behind them.

French-born Brigitte Lacombe is one of such photographers, who is as well known as the faces she photographs. Her career started at the Cannes Film Festival back in 1975, and since then her works and cinema world are inseparable.

The artist’s works invite the audience behind the scenes to the movie-making process. The most intimate moments, not revealed around the outsiders of the industry, come true on Brigitte’s photographs. From the sets of Falling in Love, The Wolf of Wall Street, Dangerous Liaisons and many other appraised movies, she brings striking photographs of the stars, that become iconic.

This summer Shanghai Center of Photography hosts an exhibition “Lacombe|Inside Cinema”, presenting 40 portraits and scenes inside the filmmakers’ world, which you can experience the way rarely seen before. The exhibition is in town till August 28th at Shanghai Center of Photography(SCôP)
