“The Artist is Present” in Shanghai

Gucci-supported exhibition curated by Maurizio Cattelan goes on view in Yuz Museum

You can’t help but notice, that in the world of Gucci, everything is a little surreal. This time, the brand is pushing that description further, exploring how “originality can be reached through the act of repetition” in the new exhibition “The Artist is Present”, opening in Yuz Museum. For this show, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele collaborated with humorous art provocateur Maurizio Cattelan. The artist, inspired by Marina Abramovic’s 2010 work with the same title, gathered art pieces by 30 artists in his interpretation of the topic.
