World-renowned Parisian artist Valérie Belin present’s her first solo exhibition in China.
On the view in Shanghai Center of Photography through July 2nd-August 24th, the show is a retrospective of unique photography. It guides the audience from Belin’s very first projects to her latest new media experiments. Meta - clichés start in Beijing’s Three Shadows Photography Art Centre before arriving to Shanghai.
What will the audience see? A visual confusion in scale, created by Belin’s specific approach to light, details, texture and color. The artist explores the edges of ultramodern image, aiming at transcending cliches. Revolving around the themes of the body, identity and the artificial, the exhibition presents Belin’s latest experiments in digital and overlay techniques.
