When architecture, fashion, and a good cause meet, amazing things can happen: the firm 3D-printed an “H-line hat” in support of the NY “Friends of the High Line” events.

The 23 city-block long high line may have not become an icon of public park in New York if not for “Friends of the High Line”. Formed in 1999 by community residents of Manhattan’s West Side, the organization aimed to preserve and transform an historic elevated railway under threat of demolition. Today, over 7 million visitors come to the park every year, and  organization continues with its efforts putting together more than 450 public programs and activities. “Friends of the High Ling” will host a special event on June 14th.

To this occasion, where guests are invited to don their creativity through a hat themed dress code, Zaha Hadid architects has created the 3D printed “H-line hat”. The design echos the fluidity of the steel facade of recently finished ZHA’s residential project in New York, creating a powerful dynamic. We can only wonder, if this foray into architectural-fashion will be continued?

Friends of the High Line活动,公司创造了3D效果的H-line hat。

Friends of the High Ling也将于6月14日举办一场特别活动。
