Chinese director among Sundance Screenwriters Lab Fellows

15 creatives, selected for this year’s Sundance Screenwriters Lab Fellowship, received a chance to further develop their scripts with the mentorship of accomplished advisors including Scott Frank, Michael Arndt, Suha Arraf, Ritesh Batra, Andrea Berloff, D.V. DeVincentis, Gonzalo Maza.

Chinese writer and director Xixi Wang, working on a feature film «Sisyphus» was among the fellows. Based on true events, Wang’s film tells a story of a single mother who fights to uncover the truth of her son’s death in a subway station in China. Xixi Wang’s films have screened at major Chinese and international festivals, she was also selected by Asian Film Academy 2019 to co-host Busan International Film Festival, and also was shortlisted for Locarno Film Academy 2019.
