The residents participating in the tenth edition of Ikusmira Berriak, including Maria Elorza, Marieke Elzerman, Felipe Gálvez, Lucy Kerr, Mikele Landa, and Cande Lázaro, have commenced their creative journey since March 4th at the Artists' Space in the Tabakalera international contemporary arts centre in San Sebastián. This initiative is part of their residency program focusing on the creation of audiovisual projects, organized collaboratively by the San Sebastián Festival, Tabakalera, and Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE).

This week marked pivotal face-to-face sessions with the members of the Ikusmira Berriak committee of experts, comprising producer and consultant Flor Clérico, consultant Olimpia Pont Cháfer, and consultant and San Sebastián Festival selection committee member Javier Martín. These sessions serve as crucial guidance and feedback for the participants as they refine their projects.

A distinctive aspect of Ikusmira Berriak is its emphasis on providing tailored support to filmmakers through the selection of seasoned professionals as mentors. Albertina Carri, Laura Citarella, Isaki Lacuesta, Elena López Riera, Jean-Gabriel Périot, and Catarina Vasconcelos have been appointed as tutors for this purpose.
