Future “Must-Watch” Indie Documentaries
Sundance Institute selected five projects for the flagship Documentary Edit and Story Lab in Utah.
Sundance Institute continues to support independent visual storytelling in numerous different ways. For independent nonfiction filmmakers, the Lab creates a space to develop and collaborate on their works in the later stages of post-production. Once finished, this year’s Documentary Edit and Story Lab projects will tell the viewers a the post-Libyan revolution story of a divided family (After a Revolution), a story about summer camp awakenings that would transform young lives, and America, forever (Crip Camp), American ghost story and a house that vanished (Forgiveness). Thanks to the program, the audience will also see a film about climate change (The Hottest August), and an identity crisis unfolding with docile media (#Mickey).
