The Best Week of Scientists’ Year
Personalized medicine, genetic engineering, the role of science in a ‘post-factual era’ and issues around scientific publishing practices—even if you are not a scientist, these issues have importance in shaping our modern world and lives of everybody. And those are the hottest topics of this year’s Lindau Nobel Laureates Meetings, held during June 24th-29th.
Once every year, the next generation of leading scientists from all over the world have a chance to meet Nobel Laureates in Lindau. This year, 600 undergraduates, Ph.D. students, and post-doc researchers will meet 39 Nobel laureates in a series of lectures and events.
In addition to lectures, panel discussions, poster sessions and master classes, the program will feature new formats including Agora Talks, Science Walks, a Life Lecture and Laureate Lunches. Started last Sunday with an opening ceremony and a concert, the Meetings scientific activities launched next day with a breakfast on the International Day. This year, the International Day dedicated to China and developing cross-cultural stronger science leadership. You can head to the official website to see the Nobel laureates talks and be in the know.
