CHANEL|SPRING 2016 COUTURE
Couture is not the first thing that comes to your mind thinking of ecology. But when it's up to Lagerfeld, high luxury collection can be turned into eco-conscious media buzz. For this Tuesday's show Chanel avoided glamorous flash, sending delicate, classic clothes down the runway instead. The eco theme felt through jewelry embroideries made of wood shavings and straw, cork platform shoes and nature patterns—that’s as far as ‘sustainable’ high fashion went this time. The theatrically staged show with a wooden ‘dollhouse’ in a zen garden nonetheless remains a major couture happening.
