Dive Into the World of Bjork in Gucci Garden
The fashion house expands its creative space project with a tribute to the Icelandic singer and the latest capsule collection developed with artist Isabella Cotier.
Gucci has unveiled two new halls in its Gucci Garden in Florence, which will host presentations and installations by different artists on rotation. The first exhibition is dedicated to the brand’s collaboration with Bjork for the artist’s “The Gate” music video. It feels a tad inappropriate to call ‘a dress’ the luminescent creation made of iridescent PVC, organza, crepe de chine and silk jersey, which took 550 hours to make and 320 hours to embroider. This attire that Bjork donned in the video and a second gown crafted in organza and tulle, are showcased in the space, along with a selection of books related to the video, Bjork, and Iceland, as well as a range of accessories.
In addition to the exhibition area, Gucci Garden also includes a restaurant and a store, carrying an exclusive, limited-edition selection of the brand. Exclusively for the store, London-based artist Isabella Cotier developed a capsule collection, embellished with eccentric Florentine characters in the city’s cafes, markets, and streets.
