Announcing the new season, the NYC Ballet released a video, reminding the audience, what’s behind the beautiful performances they are enjoying

Inspired by George Balanchine’s quote “First comes the sweat. Then comes the beauty—if you’re very lucky and you’ve said your prayers”, Ryan Marie Helfant directed a new video promo of the NYC Ballet’s upcoming 2018-2019 season. The sheer physical effort of ballet often remains in the background and this promo video puts it in the spotlight.

Enjoy the video featuring  New York City Ballet dancers like Joseph Gordon, Maria Kowroski, Indiana Woodward, and Lauren Lovette and if you have a chance, plan an evening at the New York City Ballet. The upcoming season has a lot to offer, with six world premieres and an astonishing array of dance.
