Tommy Hilfiger is no stranger to elaborate runway experiences—we’ve seen his runway transformed into a cruise ship, football stadium, a beach in the heart of New York city, but this season is next level. The carnival orchestrated along the pier at South Street Seaport with a 40-foot Ferris wheel was a hot talk of the fashionistas before the fashion week even started. And for the collection unveiled on September 10th there’s one description: pure extravaganza staged in front of 2000 guests, partly A-list celebrities, members of Gigi’s superstar crowd and partly common, yet very eager fans of the brand.

In the glory of carnival with all its true attributes, critics say that Hilfiger returned fun to the fashion, revolutionizing new concepts. The collection made in collaboration with Gigi Hadid is a see-now-buy-now experiment. Some of the covetable, fresh off the runway items were already available in the stores at the carnival set-up, the whole collection is available at the moments, instead of 5 months from the show.

Gigi opened the show, coming out blazing in a navy-and-white jacket and leather pants, the whole collection felt like a variation of supermodel’s style on the iconic Hilfiger designs. The only question is, what can be possibly more cool than this presentation? Wait for next seasons to find out.
