Gucci’s long-awaited collaboration with Dapper Dan hits the market

Last September, Italian fashion house announced that it will do a collaboration with Dapper Dan, a legendary hip-hop tailor. In the 80s and 90s, Dan’s designs were adored and worn by rappers and boxers alike, and Alessandro Michele reimagines that signature aesthetics with a Gucci twist. The new collection, which is available on the official website and in selected stores globally, features tracksuits, jackets, T-shirts and tanks and other items in Gucci’s signature fabrics and decorative elements. You can also spot a new yellow Gucci logo making its appearance, inspired by the original sign of Dan’s Harlem store.

Photographer Ari Marcopoulos was behind the lens to capture the collection in a range of images, paying tribute to Dapper Dan’s design heritage.
