For several decades Art Basel has been organizing the world’s premier modern and contemporary art fairs, transforming three exciting cities: Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong into the biggest stage of contemporary art.
Art Basel held its fourth edition attracted a record 70,000 visitors to sink into the art from more than 200 galleries from across the globe at the Honk Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
In celebration of Art Basel Hong Kong 2016, a legendary American artist Larry Bell unveiled his new work, specially created for Pacific Place. “Pacific Red” features three large-scale glass cubes, which reflect Bell’s narrative in turning air and light into an aesthetic object. The artist, born in 1939, is associated both with Minimalism and then the Light and Space movement. Throughout his career, Larry Bell has been experimenting with the nature of the surface and its relationship to space, creating immersive artworks. The exhibition is on display at Pacific Place until April 17th.
