Larry Bell & Art Basel

A driving force in supporting the role that galleries play in careers of their artists. In the art world, the name, which encompasses it all, carries the weight of a blue whale. For several decades Art Basel has been organizing the world’s premier modern and contemporary art fairs, transforming three exciting cities: Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong into the biggest stage of contemporary art.

Art Basel held its fourth edition attracted a record 70,000 visitors to sink into the art from more than 200 galleries from across the globe at the Honk Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In celebration of Art Basel Hong Kong 2016, a legendary American artist Larry Bell unveiled his new work, specially created for Pacific Place. “Pacific Red” features three large-scale glass cubes, which reflect Bell’s narrative in turning air and light into an aesthetic object. The artist, born in 1939, is associated both with Minimalism and then the Light and Space movement. Throughout his career, Larry Bell has been experimenting with the nature of the surface and its relationship to space, creating immersive artworks. The exhibition is on display at Pacific Place until April 17th.

在2016年的巴塞尔艺术博览会香港展，一位传奇的美国艺术家Larry Bell（拉里·贝尔）推出了自己特地为太古广场设计的新作品。作品名为‘Pacific Red'由三个大型玻璃立方体组成，反映了艺术家贝尔对于空气及光线的独特审美角度。这位1939年出生的艺术家，受到了光与空间以及极简主义的影响。在他的创作生涯中，贝尔一直在探索物体的性质，以及他们在空间中的关系，创造出仿佛身临其境的艺术作品。此次作品的展出将在太古广场持续到4月17日。
