Coming this November, the new chapter in New Museum’s critical anthologies in art and culture series.

New Museum, the only space in New York dedicated solely to contemporary art, is seriously delving into art and culture studies. Coming this November, Trap Door: Trans Cultural Production and Politics of Visibility is the third installment in the series. It follows the publication of Mass Effect, and Public Servants, which explored the relations between art and the internet and the crisis of common good.

Edited by Reina Gossett, Eric A.Stanley, and Johanna Burton, Trap Door gathers essays, conversations, and dossiers, themed as beauty, performativity, activism, and police brutality. The publication ignites a conversation that extends beyond trans culture.
