Row’s Twin De Force Designers Won CFDA Awards

Last month the Council of Fashion Designers of America hosted its annual awards, recognizing top designers and creative directors for their efforts at making us all look good – which is no easy task since the creation of onesies. Hosted by the fashion world’s comedian-of-the-moment James Corden, who sat by Anna Wintour for most of the show and finished up on the catwalk with Naomi Campbell, the awards also attracted a splattering of celebrities including Emmy Rossum and Zachary Quintos. Valentino’s Creative Directors got the International Award, Instagram the Media one, and the Row’s twin de force designers only just missed out on the Accessories Designer of the Year Award to Tabitha Simmons. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen did, however, get the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. Their luxurious yet minimalist fashion brand, The Row, is named after Saville Row in London. Of course, this is not the first time The Row has gained recognition. Last year at the CFDA awards they won the Accessories Designer Award and they have also had their skirt designs featured in The Maker magazine.

美国时装设计师协会在上个月举行了年度颁奖典礼，来认可及嘉奖顶级设计师和创意指导们，在美化我们的外表等方面所作的努力。这样的努力从设计连体衣开始就不是一个简单的任务。典礼由时尚届即兴戏剧演员詹姆斯·柯登主持，他一直以来颇受《Vogue》杂志美国版主编安娜·温图尔的喜爱与支持，也曾在电视节目秀上配合著名模特“黑珍珠”纳奥米·坎贝尔走过猫步，据说他也因此圆了自己的模特梦。此次典礼吸引了诸如艾米·罗森和扎克瑞·昆图在内的众多明星参与。Valentino的创意总监此次摘得国际奖项，Instagram则获得媒体奖，The Row奥尔森姐妹设计师则将年度配饰设计师奖项拱手让给了塔碧瑟·西蒙斯，不过，两姐妹却获得了年度女装奖项，她俩的极简主义奢侈品牌–The Row的名字取自伦敦裁缝街“Saville Row”。当然，这不是 The Row第一次获奖。在去年美国时装设计师协会颁奖典礼上，两姐妹曾获得过配饰设计师奖项。她俩所设计的裙装也曾在《The Maker 臆想》杂志上展示。
